Olivia Faillace, MSJ Alumna ’23, Sculpts Elephant Statue for the Cincinnati Zoo’s New Elephant Trek Habitat Entrance!

Olivia Faillace's Bronze Elephant Sculpture is Displayed at the New Elephant Trek Habitat Entrance at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden!

Mount St. Joseph University is extremely proud of Olivia Faillace '23 for her recent accomplishment of having her Bronze Elephant Sculpture placed at the entrance of the new Elephant Trek Habitat at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden! The sculpture Olivia created features two adorable bronze baby elephants intertwined. This sculpture is on display at the entrance of the Harry and Linda Fath Elephant Trek Habitat which opened to the public on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024. The new Elephant Trek Habitat is the largest habitat the Cincinnati Zoo has ever created spanning over 5 acres and home to eight elephants!

Olivia Faillace is a recent graduate from Mount St. Joseph University's Department of Creative Arts. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Mount in 2023. While at the Mount she had the privilege of working with Tom Tsuchiya. Tom Tsuchiya is an adjunct professor at the Mount in the Creative Arts Department and an extremely notable local artist and sculptor. Tom Tsuchiya is best known for his public art including the plaques for the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, and the sculptures of Reds players at Great American Ball Park. Olivia Faillace coins Tom Tsuchiya as a great mentor of hers.
