20th Anniversary Celebration - FREE Health & Wellness Fair for All Ages & Families Welcome

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ, September 11, 2024 - Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton's (RWJUH Hamilton) Center for Health & Wellness, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, in partnership with RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center, will celebrate 20 years of health in Hamilton Township by hosting a FREE Health & Fitness Fair on Saturday, October 26, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center* and RWJUH Hamilton's Center for Health & Wellness, both located at 3100 Quakerbridge Road, Hamilton, NJ.

The event is open to the community and families and children are welcome. There will be a plethora of exciting free things to do and enjoy, including complete access to the state-of-the-art fitness center, including the aquatics center, wellness programs, cooking demonstrations, health screenings, and health information from RWJUH Hamilton, as well as some kid-friendly seasonal crafts and fun too.

And if folks enjoy a healthy cuisine inspired by Mediterranean and Hispanic flavors, you won't want to miss a special cooking demonstration with spokesperson for Novo Nordisk, celebrity chef, speaker and wine educator, Doreen Colondres. With a best-selling cookbook and three successful cooking shows aired in 16 countries, Doreen is also an advocate for increasing awareness of obesity and diabetes and inspires others to cook with fresh and healthy ingredients.

Throughout the venue will also be local vendors for shopping, self-care stations, and plenty of additional surprises for all to enjoy.

"Twenty years ago, we promised to do something bold and different - build a medically based fitness and wellness center that would focus on keeping our community healthy and with the proper education and screening, hopefully out of the hospital. We are extremely proud of what our exceptional caregivers and team members at every level have accomplished in the pursuit of that goal, and we are even more excited about the future and everything we will do in the years ahead to continue our momentum and further reinvent the wellness experience," says Diane Grillo, Vice President, Health Promotions, RWJUH Hamilton.

A Medical Advisory Panel (MAP) composed of 28 board-certified physicians, along with hospital leadership and member advisors, collaborate with RWJUH Hamilton's Community Health program development to maximize the benefit to attendees. These professionals represent a variety of specialties and diversified viewpoints in health care, and the quality of the programming reflects the expertise of our MAP members and the strength of this partnership.

All programs, support groups, activities and events sponsored by RWJUH Hamilton's Community Health Team are open to all in the community, and are held at the Center for Health and Wellness unless otherwise specified.
