Four SD CAP Units Earn Quality Cadet Unit Award

Four South Dakota Wing units have earned CAP's Quality Cadet Unit Award for 2024 - Lincoln County Composite Squadron, Rushmore Composite Squadron, Big Sioux Composite Squadron, and Lookout Mountain Composite Squadron.

This award is intended to motivate CAP units to pursue goals that will inevitably lead to their having a vibrant youth program, known in CAP as the Cadet Program.

The South Dakota Wing squadrons receiving the award met at least six of ten challenging criteria from 31 August 2023 through 31 August 2024, including the number of cadets in the unit, promptness of new cadets earning their first rank, orientation flight accomplishment, first time encampment attendance, participation in outside aerospace education activities, and adult leader training, among other criteria.

These units will receive certificates and Flag/Guidon streamers.
