AIG is proud to share that the AIG Women's Open has been honored with the prestigious LPGA Gold Driver Award for Best Player Experience, a recognition of the exceptional efforts of AIG and The R&A to elevate the quality of this celebrated tournament.

Since becoming the title sponsor of the AIG Women's Open in 2019, AIG has worked alongside The R&A to make the AIG Women's Open one of the highest-quality Majors in women's golf and to take significant steps to address the pay equity gap, tripling the prize money from $3.25 million since before the partnership began in 2019 to $9.5 million this year.

AIG has also invested to enhance the player experience and bring the world's best golfers to the world's most renowned courses. None are more iconic than the historic Old Course at St Andrews, Scotland, the birthplace of golf and the site of the 2024 Championship, where Lydia Ko took home the trophy.

"We are very proud of these achievements and honored for the 2024 AIG Women's Open to receive this prestigious award," says AIG Chairman & CEO Peter Zaffino. "This recognition highlights the role of the AIG Women's Open in setting a new standard for excellence on and off the course."

An important feature of the 2024 AIG Women's Open that contributed to the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) recognition was the refurbished Royal and Ancient Clubhouse where a slew of new, modern amenities including a locker room, recovery equipment, gym, relaxation area, ice baths, concierge services, on-course nutrition and refreshments, and courtesy car services were introduced.

AIG is proud to see these efforts recognized by the LPGA, and to learn the players truly appreciated the experience and support to help them prepare for this important Championship.

"Creating opportunities that inspire future generations is core to our values," Peter says. "We are constantly raising the bar in all that we do for our clients, partners and stakeholders."

AIG's title sponsorship of the AIG Women's Open extends through 2030, with the 2025 Championship to be held at the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club along the Welsh coastline in the UK. AIG looks forward to once again celebrating the world's best golfers and demonstrating the global insurance organization's commitment to allyship.
