Today is Armed Forces Day

America has the greatest military in the world, but that's not just because of our superior technology or weapons arsenal. It's because of the young men and women who put on our nation's uniform and swear to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

These soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, coast guardsmen, and guardians of the Space Force represent the very best of America. They sacrifice time away from family and loved ones for their country.

I consider it one of the highest honors of my life to have been able to stand shoulder to shoulder with them on the battlefield. I would be proud if my children did the same one day.

To my brothers and sisters in arms, you are the reason our nation remains a beacon of hope and democracy for the world. I salute you.
