Welco me to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • Stabbing - 1900 block of Cedar Avenue: On Nov. 7, 2024 at approximately 12:24 a.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Cedar Avenue regarding a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for his injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim and female adult suspect were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated when the suspect stabbed the victim. Officers located the suspect, and she was subsequently arrested and transported to Long Beach City Jail for booking. The investigation is ongoing.

Great work officers! Yesterday officers safely took two guns off the streets.

  • On Nov. 6 2024 at approximately 4:42 p.m., officers conducted a pedestrian stop in the area of 12th Street and Pine Avenue. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The suspect, who was determined to be a prohibited possessor, was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.

  • On Nov. 6, 2024 at approximately 7:13 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Santa Fe Avenue and 31st Street. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The suspect, who was determined to be a prohibited possessor, was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
