I Navigati - A new cybersecurity awareness campaign

A new cybersecurity awareness campaign has been launched, thanks to the efforts of institutions and the banking, financial and insurance sectors, aimed at promoting the safe and responsible use of digital channels and tools, while raising public awareness of the risks of online attacks and fraud in the use of financial services.

The initiative is promoted by CERTFin in collaboration with Banca d'Italia, the Italian Banking Association (ABI), the Italian Institute for the Supervision of Insurance (IVASS), the State Police, Banca Agricola Popolare di Ragusa, Banca Popolare del Lazio, Banca Popolare di Puglia e Basilicata, Banca Popolare di Sondrio, Banca Sella, Banco BPM, BNL-BNP Paribas, BPER, Cassa Centrale, Credem, Credit Agricole, Iccrea, Illimity, ING, Intesa Sanpaolo, La Cassa, Mediobanca, Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Reale Group and UniCredit.

Starting on 7 October, the 'Navigati' family, already seen in previous cybersecurity campaigns, return with a new adventure to help citizens recognize potential scams that use impersonation and manipulation techniques to deceive victims.

The concept of 'spoofing' is explained in short videos, allowing viewers to enter the mind of the scammer and understand the tricks and strategies they use. The videos also provide guidance to teach people how to protect themselves. The content of the new campaign will be available exclusively online: on YouTube, other digital platforms, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and on the website https://inavigati.certfin.it/.

The campaign will also be available as podcasts on major listening platforms.

The initiative - which coincides with Cybersecurity Awareness Month - has the support of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) and Italy's Cybersecurity Agency (Agenzia per la Cybersicurezza Nazionale), and a collaboration with Meta is planned.
