As a result of Hurricane Milton, many traffic signals throughout Volusia County have lost their functionality. We are actively striving to return to normal operations. Drivers should exercise caution and prioritize safety while navigating intersections. Signal outages can create confusion and increase the risk of accidents. When traffic lights are non-operational at an intersection, please take the following precautions:

• Treat the intersection as a 4-way stop.

• The first car at the intersection is the first to go through the intersection.

• The vehicle farthest to the right goes first if all stops are approached simultaneously.

• If two vehicles are across from each other, straight traffic goes first.

• Do not proceed if you do not feel safe, wait for a break in traffic.

Volusia County staff will continue coordinating with state officials and the National Weather Service to assess local impacts from the storm. The Citizens Information Center (CIC) is open 24/7 until further notice, residents can reach the CIC at 866-345-0345. Residents can stay updated by downloading the Volusia Emergency Management app, following the County's social media channels, or visiting www.volusia.org.
