United Arab Emirates: 3rd High-level Political Dialogue with the EU held in Brussels

The 3^rd High-level Political Dialogue between the European Union and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held in Brussels on 15 July. This meeting further consolidated the comprehensive EU - UAE partnership.

The two sides engaged extensively on the EU - UAE bilateral relationship and their common efforts to further deepen it in areas of mutual interest. The discussion also touched upon human rights, countering money laundering, and terrorism financing, as well as circumvention of sanctions. The two sides reconfirmed their commitment to continue engaging constructively on global issues of mutual interest and concern, including within the ambits in the United Nations and other multilateral fora.

As regards current regional and international developments, the discussion focused on the war in Gaza, the prospects of the Middle East Peace Process, the situation in Lebanon, in Yemen, the Red Sea, as well asRussia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

The Dialogue was co-chaired by Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service for Political Affairs Enrique Mora and the UAE Assistant Minister for Political Affairs and Special Envoy to the EU, Lana Nusseibeh.

The next High-Level Political Dialogue will take place in Abu Dhabi.
