In observance of Christmas and the New Year, City of Grand Prairie administrative offices will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Other city services affected are:

  • The Landfill and Garbage Collection/Recycling The landfill will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1 and garbage will not be collected on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1. Collection will shift to the next day for each service day within the holiday week. See the Garbage and Recycling Schedule.
  • Prairie Lights is open nightly beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 is the last day of Prairie Lights.
  • Epic Waters will be open. Learn more at EpicWatersgp.com.
  • Charley Taylor Recreation Center, Dalworth Recreation Center, and Tony Shotwell Life Center will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1. The recreation centers will be open 7 a.m.-6 p.m. on Dec. 23 and Dec. 31.
  • The Summit will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1; The Summit will be open 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
  • The Epic will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1; The Epic will be open 5:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
  • Kirby Creek Indoor Pool will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24-Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.
  • The Animal Shelter will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1. The Animal Shelter will be open Monday, Dec. 23 for adoptions only, noon-4 p.m.
  • Libraries - closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1, all libraries have bookdrops for the return of items after hours. Items can also be returned to the Lake Parks Book Locker 24/7. The eBranch is always open at gptx.org/library, with ebooks, music, online learning and streaming media.
  • Prairie Lakes and Tangle Ridge Golf Courses - the last tee time on Tuesday, Dec. 24 will be at 10 a.m. Golf courses will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
  • The Tourist Center will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24-Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.
