Faculty Club

On June 1, 2024, Ted Sanders took over the presidency of the Faculty Club from Professor Ronald Bleys. Ted Sanders is Professor of Dutch language use and discourse studies at the Faculty of Humanities and also Vice-Rector of Research at UU. Ted knows the club very well and believes strongly in the Faculty Club as a meeting place and living room of the UU.

"In this living room, people from all backgrounds meet in a casual way, in an inspiring and conversation-provoking environment. UU can be proud of such a beautiful Faculty Club! In the coming years, we and the Board want to continue many activities and also initiate some new ones. We are thinking about involving various groups in the ins and outs of the club, stimulating academic debate and making the FC accessible, literally and figuratively. The club is a meeting place for the entire university community. It is that diversity of alumni and staff in particular that leads to surprising encounters, and that is what we are going to keep working towards. So I look forward to working on this with the other board members and the program committee."

Are you already a member of the Faculty Club, the University's Living Room? The Faculty Club is a meeting place for all employees and alumni of Utrecht University. A club with sparkling gastronomy, fun social activities, substantive debates and a beautiful hidden courtyard garden.

You are also welcome in the Living Room every working day for a delicious lunch, a pleasant drink with colleagues or a culinary dinner with (foreign) guests. Are you looking for a workplace in the city center or do you just want to sit quietly? We have some workplaces where you can immediately enjoy a delicious latte macchiato. Feel free to walk in and ask about the possibilities.
