On June 28, Unification Minister Kim Yung Ho delivered a welcoming speech at the 10th Symposium on Korean Future held under the theme "Status and Challenges of Korea-U.S.-Japan Trilateral Cooperation."

Referring to President Yoon Suk Yeol's commemorative speech on the 74th anniversary of the Korean War, where he mentioned, "Words alone cannot keep peace. Strong power and an ironclad security posture are the way to achieving real peace," Minister Kim emphasized, "The South Korean government will strengthen the ROK-U.S.-Japan security cooperation based on a strong ROK-U.S. alliance and will resolutely respond together with the international community.

Moreover, Minister Kim said that the future of the Korean Peninsula we picture is a "unified Korean Peninsula that is free and at peace," and that "the government is forming a new unification discourse with a clear goal of a 'free, unified Republic of Korea.'"

He added, "The government will do its utmost to ensure that every resident of both South and North Korea can be respected and fully enjoy freedom and prosperity in the future unified Korean Peninsula."
