Broadcom’s VMware Tanzu CloudHealth Named a Leader in Forrester Wave™: Cloud Cost Management and Optimization, Q3 2024

This week, Forrester Research published The Forrester Wave™: Cloud Cost Management and Optimization Solutions, Q3 2024. As a guide to the FinOps tool market, the Forrester Wave™ is designed to be a guide for FinOps Practitioners to leverage while they are considering their options.

The 2024 Forrester Wave evaluated 12 vendors and their tools based on their 25-criterion evaluation broken out into 3 categories: Current Offering, Strategy, and Market Presence. The evaluation was based on functionality that was generally available in the vendor's platform as of February 29, 2024, as well as information and materials that were available on April 24, 2024. Of the 12 vendors, Forrester named 3 Leaders, 4 Strong Performers, 1 Contender, and 4 Challengers

Forrester Principal Analyst and report author, Tracy Woo, writes that "Broadcom continues its leadership in cloud cost management. Broadcom's CloudHealth remains a stalwart leader and one of the de facto solutions in this space."

As part of the Forrester Wave™: Cloud Cost Management and Optimization, Q3 2024 review of the Tanzu CloudHealth solution, the report states that "Broadcom has superior access and permissions with its FlexOrgs capabilities and depth in reporting and monitoring." FlexOrgs provide users the ability to build and manage their organization in Tanzu CloudHealth as a hierarchy composed of multiple organizational units (OU), with each OU being assigned access and responsibility for managing cloud resources they own.
