On November 14, the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation hosted a delegation from the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an annual Counterproliferation Dialogue to address the threat posed by the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, as well as the current actions of key countries of proliferation concern, including the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and Russia, among others. The sides exchanged views and coordinated action on a wide range of counterproliferation and multilateral issues, including affirming the importance of the Proliferation Security Initiative and similar efforts to disrupt transfers of WMD, their delivery systems, and related materials, as well as conventional arms transfers of concern. Both sides agreed to continue close cooperation in these annual talks.
