A total of 165 sports equipment were generously provided by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, along with 23 pairs of football boots donated by the Estonian Football Federation, and also a football ball. This CIMIC initiative reflects the commitment to fostering development and encouraging sports among young boys supported by the institution.

In a gesture of solidarity and hope, this event filled with joy the faces of the youngest to the oldest and the hearts of the soldiers who were involved in this activity, to whom we thank for the support provided. Each smile plucked was a seed planted, loaded with dreams and new perspectives and hope for the future of these young boys.

EUMAM-MOZ extends its gratitude to the partners involved for making this initiative possible and reaffirms its dedication to contributing to the well-being of Mozambican communities.

The mission of the Casas do Gaiato, four in Portugal, two in Angola and one in Mozambique in the city of Maputo, is to support at-risk boys, seeking to provide for their development and the acquisition of personal and professional skills with a view to their full autonomy as future adults. The Casa do Gaiato in Maputo houses 156 boys on a boarding school basis and also supports 52 other young people and provides both groups with vocational training.

This is part of the EU response to the request of the Government of Mozambique to address the crisis in Cabo Delgado, including through humanitarian aid, peacebuilding, security and development.
