Interested in learning about how to live a greener life at BU? Here's your chance. BU Sustainability is hosting its annual Sustainability Festival on Wednesday, September 18, on the GSU Plaza from 11 am to 2 pm. It's a great way to learn how you can become more involved in the University's sustainability efforts. More than 40 student groups and community partners will be on hand to talk about the work they're doing and the exciting initiatives underway on campus, including BU's Zero Waste Plan and Climate Action Plan.

Nicknamed the "Susty Festival," the event will also feature free food, fun games and activities, and lots of giveaways and prizes, including chances to win a free Stanley or YETI tumbler and even a free bike. Folks will also be on hand to provide important information about bike safety.

"The BU Sustainability Festival is a fun place to get together with friends, enjoy the fall weather, and learn about how to get involved in sustainability activities at BU and in Greater Boston throughout the year," says Lisa Tornatore (CAS'02), director of BU Sustainability.

Dozens of on- and off-campus organizations will showcase their objectives, from sustainability advocacy to well-being, and underscore the many ways students can integrate sustainability into their lives. Tornatore cites one example: BU's Professional Clothing Closet, which offers BU students free gently used professional attire for job interviews and job fairs.

"Sustainability can be for anyone, whether you're a business major or graphic designer," Tornatore says. "Involvement in sustainability on campus is a way for students, faculty, and staff to pursue their passions beyond school and work."
