Team Recovering Nazi Looted Art Secures First Runner up in Litigator of the Week

The BakerHostetler team behind the first Nazi-looted art trial in the U.S., led by Partner Oren Warshavsky and including Partners Tatiana Markel and Michelle Usitalo and Associate Victoria Stork, achieved the First Runner-up spot in the American Lawyer Litigator of the Week honors on August 14, 2024.

The team's efforts resulted in the heir of a Viennese art collector being awarded possession of a highly valuable watercolor by Austrian artist Egon Schiele. The case was also a three-way dispute among high-profile adversaries, including the Lehman banking family and the heirs of another well-known Viennese art collector.
