SEATTLE - Festival Sundiata presents Black Arts Fest 2024 August 24-25, 12 - 8 p.m., at the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall and Mural Amphitheatre. This year's theme, "Family Reunion," underscores the ongoing commitment to celebrating Black Love and Black Excellence, while fostering a sense of unity and inclusion for all ages.

"What makes Festival Sundiata special is the family reunion atmosphere that is created when people come together to celebrate one another," said Grady Austin, Executive Director of Festival Sundiata. "I donate my time to Festival Sundiata because of its 44-year history, the love that I have for my community, and the ease in which the committee donates their time and works together to create the best and largest Black arts festival in the state of Washington."

Festival Sundiata 2024 promises an expanded array of activities and performances that will engage, entertain, and inspire festivalgoers from the youngest children to esteemed elders. Attendees can look forward to an enriching cultural experience that highlights the diversity and vibrancy of Black artistry.

The 2024 music performance lineup includes S.O.S. Band, The Music Forever (formerly of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly), Jeffrey Osborne, Michael Powers, Eugenie Jones, and the Greater Seattle Area Fellowship Gospel Choir.

Festival Sundiata will also feature interactive activities, workshops, and exhibitions that honor the rich cultural heritage and contemporary achievements of the Black community. From arts and crafts for children to historical exhibits and panel discussions, there is something for everyone to enjoy and learn. Festival Sundiata also has a partnership with Seattle Children's Museum, where there will be free admission for festivalgoers all weekend long.

"Festival Sundiata's Black Arts Fest is a celebration of Black culture, Black brilliance, and shared love for community." said Heidi Jackson, Managing Artistic Director of Cultural Programs. "Seattle Center is privileged to host such an event. Wear your dancing shoes!"
