"The Friend of Pet Food Award is a special recognition for someone who has played an instrumental role in moving the industry forward," said Louise Calderwood, AFIA's director of regulatory affairs. "We encourage our members and industry colleagues to nominate those who have made a lasting impact on improving pet nutrition."

"We are thrilled to offer this platform for students to present their work to such a large and influential audience in the pet food industry," said Calderwood. "This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain exposure, share their innovative ideas and connect with professionals who are passionate about hiring those who will shape the future of pet nutrition."

Submissions will be reviewed and selected by members of AFIA's Pet Food Committee based on relevance to the pet food industry and quality of the written submission. Applications for student presentations are due to Calderwood by Monday, Nov. 4.
