Heat advisory in effect; City to open weekend cooling center at Community Table

A Heat Advisoryis in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The City of Frederick is offering its Community Table at 100 S. Market Street as a Cooling Center for residents who need to get out of the heat starting Saturday, July 20. This cooling center will be open every weekend through mid-August. Hours will be 9:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

The Day Shelter operated by the Salvation Army serves as a cooling centerand is open Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

The City of Frederick encourages residents to take care of yourself and others and know the signs of heatexhaustion and heatstroke.
