Man Investigated For Committing Mischief To Decorations For National Day Celebrations

The Police are investigating a 23-year-old man for his alleged involvement in a case of mischief involving floral decorations for National Day celebrations.

On 6 August 2024 at about 10.45am, the Police received a report stating that the floral decorations for National Day celebrations, along the open area of Block 404 Pandan Gardens, were damaged and rearranged to form another word. This was apparently shown on a video posted on TikTok.

Through follow up investigations, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man on the following day. Preliminary investigations revealed that the man allegedly committed the mischief and was also purportedly the one who filmed and posted the said video on TikTok.

Police investigations against the 23-year-old man is ongoing. The offence of mischief carries an imprisonment term of up to two years, a fine, or both.

The Police have zero tolerance for such inconsiderate acts and will not hesitate to take firm actions against individuals who seek to damage public decorations or displays that symbolise our national spirit.
