JA Solar Develops Distributed PV Power System to Decarbonize Libai Group’s Factories

JA Solar has successfully developed a distributed PV power system for Libai Group, a leading player in China's daily chemical industry, to help decarbonize its factories. The first phase of the project, with a capacity of 3.7 MWp, has been completed and connected to the grid.

Developed by JA Smart Renergy, a business branch of JA Solar focusing on developing solar systems, the project utilizes JA Solar's high-performance modules. The PV system is installed on the factory's colored steel tile roof, using a tiling scheme with specially-designed clamps. The design ensures an optimal balance between PV power generation, safety, shading, and sound insulation. The system significantly reduces the factory's energy consumption, improves the working environment, and alleviates power supply challenges during peak summer periods. The system is a great example of how renewable energy can be applied in the manufacturing industry.

The energy generated by the PV system will be used primarily by the factory, with any excess electricity exported to the grid. The system is expected to generate approximately 3.889 million kWh annually, totaling about 97.2241 million kWh over 25 years. This will enable Libai to save around 31.48 million yuan in electricity costs, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 3,204.51 tons and sulfur dioxide emissions by 0.52 tons per year.
