Press Release - Capital Murder Investigation

SEAGOVILLE, TX- On December 2, 2024, at about 5:50 PM Seagoville 9-1-1 received a call of a man who had been shot in the 600 block of Fountain Drive at a community park. Seagoville Police Officers, Seagoville Fire Department Personnel and Care Flite EMS medics responded.

Upon arrival, an adult male was discovered sitting on the ground at a gazebo within this park area. The male had an apparent gunshot wound to his torso. He was conscious at the time. Medics administered emergency care and transported the male to an area hospital.

Witness information revealed that the victim and suspect were sitting in a blue Hyundai passenger car. The sound of gunfire was heard, and it was reported both the victim, and the suspect, quickly exited the vehicle. The victim ran approximately 60 feet to the gazebo and the other male ran from the park and down the street.

This male victim later died at the hospital. His name is not being released at the time, pending confirmation of his identity from the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office and next-of-kin notification.
