Legal Notice for the Private Sale of a Portion of Municipal Property, Block 16, Lot 9

LEGAL NOTICE

CITY OF MARGATE CITY

TAKE NOTICE that the City of Margate City in the County of Atlantic and State of New Jersey, has filed a request with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Public Land Compliance (DEP) proposing an amendment to its Recreation Open Space Inventory (ROSI) by removing property located in the City of Margate City, and identified as a portion of Block 16, Lot 9 on the tax map of the City (property), and correcting the acreage listed in the ROSI in connection with Block 16, Lot 9. The portion to be removed from the ROSI List consists of 1,756.38 sq. feet. The property is landward of an existing ocean front bulkhead which has been erroneously listed on some ROSI Lists. The property was not acquired for nor used for recreation or conservation purposes. This property has been used for non-recreation purposes since before the property was Green Acres encumbered. Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-25.3, a hearing to obtain public comment on this request will be held in the Commission meeting room at City Hall, 1 S. Washington Avenue, Margate, New Jersey on the 10th day of October 2024 at 6:00 p.m. Any member of the public may have the opportunity to be heard at the public hearing subject to any applicable City Ordinances. Written comments on the amendment request may be submitted to Johanna Casey, City Clerk by email at [email protected] or in writing to 9001 Winchester Avenue, Margate City, 08402 during the public comment period following the public hearing which shall end on October 24, 2024.

Public comment on this ROSI amendment will be accepted during the public hearing on the 10th day of October 2024 or until October 24, 2024. All information submitted by the City to the DEP in support of the ROSI amendment request is available to the public for inspection at the office of the City Clerk located at 9001 Winchester Avenue, Margate City, NJ.
