Deputy Director-General, Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, led a Thai business delegation to visit Rio de Janeiro aiming to promote cooperation in trade and investment, tourism and creative economy between Thailand and Brazil.

On 13-14 August 2024, Ms. Bacharee Puengpak, Deputy Director-General, Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, led a Thai business delegation to visit Rio de Janeiro, under Latin Link 2024 Project, aiming to promote cooperation in trade and investment, tourism and creative economy between Thailand and Brazil.

During the visit, the Thai delegation had discussion with (1) executives of Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro. They were briefed on Brazil business opportunities and regulations, particularly in the State of Rio de Janeiro; (2) representatives of Visit Rio, tourism promotion agency of Rio de Janeiro, where both sides exchanged views and experience on tourism promotion.; and (3) executives of Globo, the most important media group in Brazil, to explore possible cooperation in creative economy and Thai soft power promotion.

The delegation also attended the Rio Innovation Week 2024, an international technology and innovation event, in which entrepreneurs from several sectors, for instance, Fintech and circular economy, from around the world, were in attendance.
