Following the Spiedie Fest announcement, Broome County Parks, joined by the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, and U-E teacher Ryan Page, presented a new Hungry for History marker commemorating spiedies, which will be placed at Otsiningo Park. The application for the marker was initiated by Ryan Page, a social studies teacher from the Union-Endicott district, and his students. As home of the Spiedie Fest for the last 40 years, Page and his class couldn't think of a better place for the marker than Otsiningo Park.

The Spiedies Hungry for History marker states "Broome Co. specialty as early as 1938. Skewered chunks of marinated meat, charbroiled & served on bread. Celebrated at "Spiedie Fest" starting 1983."
