New park coming to The Point

: A new park is on the horizon at The Point in Old North Dayton. The City Commission on Sept. 4 approved a construction contract for phase one, to include landscaping, hardscape (concrete/asphalt), parking areas, and more, with work to get underway this year. Funding is being sought to construct phase two, to include access to the Mad River shore. The City of Dayton, CityWide Development Corporation and neighborhood residents created the vision for the park, which will be located on City-owned property at the intersection of Valley and Troy Streets.
