Antonio Gentile and 1668135 Ontario Inc. were each convicted of two violations (counts) under the Environmental Protection Act. The defendants were fined $15,000 each, plus a victim fine surcharge of $3,750 and given one year to pay.

1668135 Ontario Inc. is an Ontario registered corporation. The company owns a property located on Langstaff Road in Vaughan. At the relevant time, Antonio Gentile was the director of the corporation.

In 2021, the ministry issued two Orders to the defendants with respect to waste at the site and waste removed from the site. In part, the Orders required the defendants to submit a report detailing all activities undertaken at the site, including daily logs outlining waste management activities.

Additionally, the Orders required the defendants to submit a plan to the ministry for the removal of waste from the site that was to be deposited at other locations.

The Orders were not complied with.

The ministry's Environmental Investigations and Enforcement Branch investigated and laid charges which resulted in the convictions.
