Border Bank Invests in Continuing Legacy of Quality Experiences

Border Bank CEO Kory Shae is pleased to share an important development that reflects the bank's commitment to our customers, employees, communities - and our culture. Effective October 1, current Retail Director Steph Melgaard's role will expand, and her title will be Customer & Employee Experience Director.

Melgaard will continue to oversee retail administration, which includes the functions of teller, deposit accounts, retail lending and Customer Support.

"Border Bank has a rich history of customer and employee experience excellence - carried out by team members across our footprint every day. Developing a strategic focus upon this strong foundation will help ensure Border Bank continues to be a bank of choice - and an employer of choice. Steph is a good fit for this expanded responsibility, considering her extensive leadership in development of numerous programs, policies, and technology investments that enhance customer and employee experience," said Shae.

"Border Bank has committed and talented team members and leaders delivering meaningful and memorable customer and employee experiences as only they can. I am honored by the opportunity to partner with our people to identify ways we can enable this critical work to continue on a broad scale as our industry, technology and expectations from our customers and employees evolve," said Melgaard.

Border Bank was founded August 9, 1935 in Greenbush, Minnesota. Since then, the bank established eight more branches in Minnesota, including Middle River, Badger, Thief River Falls, Roseau, Baudette, International Falls, Coon Rapids and Clearbrook - and two branches in Fargo, North Dakota. In addition, Border Bank owns Northern Ag, an insurance agency providing crop insurance, commodity marketing advisory and brokerage services. Northern Ag has offices in Roseau and Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
