Chinese Communist Party Delegation Visits National Assembly

National Assembly Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee Marina Ragus met today with the delegation of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China, headed by Li Xiaoxin, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the State Commission Office for Public Sector Reform.

Deputy Speaker Ragus said that the delegation of the Communist Party of the People's Republic of China is coming at an important moment and a geo-politically challenging time. She reminded of the fact that the presidents of Serbia and China have established a steely friendship that resists all challenges.

"We believe that the world needs a campaign and a vision of peace, because without global peace, there can be neither regional nor local peace, and therefore no prosperity, which our two presidents have recognised," emphasised Ragus.

The officials agreed that our two countries have inherited a long-standing traditional friendship, which has been passed down from generation to generation, and has only in the last few years withstood numerous challenges and become steely. Ragus used this opportunity to once again thank the Chinese partners for supporting our economy, making it possible for Serbia to rise and strengthen economically, as well as to thank them for the unreserved help during the corona virus pandemic.

"We are immensely grateful for the recognition of Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, for respecting international law and supporting Serbia in all international forums. For us, there is only one China, the People's Republic of China, and that will not change," said Ragus.

Li Xiaoxin, the head of the Chinese delegation, expressed her satisfaction with the development of friendship between Serbia and China and the development of overall bilateral relations, to which the cooperation of the highest legislative bodies of the two countries contributes significantly. She added that after the Chinese President's last visit to Serbia, we have entered a new phase of development of bilateral relations and the two countries continue to unwaveringly support each other.

In addition to Deputy Speaker Ragus, the meeting was attended by Biljana Pantic Pilja and Aleksandar Mirkovic, members of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
