The City of Fort Worth Office of Veterans Affairs has launched a "Resources for Veterans" page at FortWorthTexas.gov/Veterans to help connect veterans, service members and their families with the many local resources that serve them.

What's new: The page offers connections to dozens of local nonprofits, government organizations and more. These connections operate in several key areas to support the veteran community including: business opportunity, employment, filing VA claims, healthcare, financial assistance, tax exemptions and more.

Why it matters: The new resource comes after the City created its first-ever veterans' affairs officer position, who serves as a dedicated advocate for the wellbeing and success of Fort Worth's military members.

"Fort Worth is committed to serving and supporting the brave men and women who have served our country," said Veterans Affairs Officer Joaquin Castillo. "We want our veterans to know that we are here to help them find and utilize the resources they need to live a high quality of life in our community."

Veterans, service members and their families are encouraged to reach out to [email protected] for support in navigating local resources.
