Portions of Three Streets to Close September 17, 18

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that portions of three streets will temporarily close beginning September 17 and 18. The closures are as follows:

  • A southbound lane of Ninth Street between Van Dorn and 14th streets will be closed beginning Tuesday, September 17 for pavement repair. The closure will temporarily reopen at noon Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22. This work is scheduled to be completed by September 27.
  • Eastbound "A" Street between 40th Street and Sunburst Lane will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, September 18 for utility work. This work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, September 20. Local access to homes and businesses will be maintained. The recommended detour is 40th Street to Randolph Street to 48th Street to "A" Street. StarTran Route 54-Veteran's Hospital will be detoured during this work.
  • Northwest 12th Street between West Upland Avenue and West Commerce Way will be closed beginning Wednesday, September 18 for railroad track removal. This work is scheduled to be completed by the end of October. Local access to businesses will be maintained. The recommended detour is West Highland Boulevard to Superior Street to North First Street to Cornhusker Highway. StarTran Route 52-Gaslight will be detoured during this work.

Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public's patience during these closures and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
