STATEMENT: Michigan Dems Chair Denounces Vance’s Sham Michigan Visit

Chair Barnes highlights stark contrast between Gov. Walz and Senator Vance's records amidst double VP visits

LANSING - Today, Senator and Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance will be visiting Shelby Township in a stunt visit where he will lie to Michiganders about his and Trump's record and agenda. Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement on Vance's visit:

"Today, J.D. Vance is going to repeat the same boring lies in Shelby Township that Donald Trump tells everywhere he goes. This visit will highlight the stark contrast not only between these campaigns, but between the vice presidential nominees - while Harris' running mate delivered school lunch to millions of kids and continuously lowered costs for the working class, Trump's running mate has done nothing except making weird comments about people without children while constantly voting against reproductive care like birth control or IVF.

"Don't be fooled, Vance will only fearmonger and spread misinformation at his event - because Republicans know they don't have solutions to offer Michiganders. This rally will make it crystal clear that he doesn't understand Michigan and he sure doesn't understand our values. After J.D. Vance's stunt event this morning, Michiganders will see a drastically different campaign and a brighter vision for a future they can believe in when Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz take the stage in Detroit today."
