Slovenia joins Global Forum on Cyber Expertise

Slovenia has joined the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE), marking an important step forward in strengthening international cooperation and expertise in the field of cybersecurity. This partnership represents a significant milestone in Slovenia's commitment to enhancing cyber capacity and contributing to global efforts to combat cyber threats.

The Global Forum on Cyber Expertise is a recognised international platform dedicated to promoting capacity building, knowledge sharing and cooperation between countries to address cybersecurity challenges. With Slovenia as a new member, the GFCE now has another dedicated partner ready to contribute to and benefit from the Forum's extensive network of expertise and resources.

Slovenia has been actively and informally cooperating with the GFCE for the last two years, starting during the Slovenian Presidency of the EU Council. In November 2023, the GFCE organised the Global Conference on Cyber Capacity Building in Accra. Slovenia participated by organising the panel on cyber capacity building activities at the regional level, titled "Think Globally, Build Locally", which aligns with the purpose of the GFCE Forum. The panel showcased the Slovenian-French-Montenegrin Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Center (WB3C) in Podgorica as an example of best practice in cyber capacity building in the Western Balkans.
