Tarleton Men’s Golf awarded GCAA All Academic Team honors for 2023 24

NORMAN, Okla. - The 2023-24 Tarleton State Men's Golf team was named a Golf Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team, the GCAA announced Tuesday.

Tarleton was one of 131 men's golf programs in NCAA Division I to have a team GPA of at least 3.0 during the 2023-24 season.

The award marks the second academic honor from the GCAA for the 2023-24 season, with , , and being named GCAA All-American Scholars last week. Each individual was also named to the Academic All-WAC Team last month.

In its second year of Division 1, Tarleton State Men's Golf made great strides during the 2023-24 season. After finishing 10th in the WAC Championship in 2023, the Texans collected a fourth-place finish in the 2024 WAC Championship. The Texans also had three student-athletes finish in the top 10 individually at the conference championships ( - T-5th, - T-5th, - T-10th).

Tarleton Men's Golf's student-athletes completed the 2023-24 campaign with one individual medalist, one All-WAC selection and combined for 11 individual top 10 finishes.

Established in 1958, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) is the professional organization of men's collegiate golf coaches. The GCAA's mission is to support its member coaches from six divisions, including the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA, by creating educational opportunities, providing resources, and promoting its members with the purpose of enhancing their overall performance as coaches, mentors, and teachers. The GCAA also recognizes the excellence and achievements of its members and their student-athletes in academic, athletic, and civic endeavors.
