Entergy Solutions Large Commercial & Industrial Program recognized in the Industrial category

Little Rock, Ark. - Entergy Arkansas is pleased to announce that the Entergy Solutions Large Commercial & Industrial Program has been recognized as a 2024 exemplary program by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) in the Industrial category. The recognition is part of the ACEEE's annual Leaders of the Pack awards, which recognize energy efficiency programs across the United States. Utilities, government agencies and third-party program administrators nominate their programs across ten award categories.

Entergy Arkansas provides incentives to commercial customers for undertaking energy efficiency upgrades via the Large Commercial & Industrial program within their Entergy Solutions portfolio. These cash incentives are awarded upon completion of specific projects aimed at enhancing energy efficiency within businesses. Moreover, such initiatives can lead to increased cash flow through electricity savings and bolster the environmentally friendly image of these enterprises. Entergy Arkansas also helps in crafting a customized energy savings strategy for buildings and integrates energy efficiencies and savings into operational procedures for their customers.

"The programs and incentives we are able to provide to our large commercial customers have such a positive impact for their organizations" said Beau Blakenship, project manager for the Large Commercial & Industrial program. "Making efficiency and savings top of mind for these customers helps them save energy and helps decrease their costs. When they see that savings across their company, it's a win for everyone. We are thrilled that the ACEEE has recognized our program and the good it is doing for our customers."

The Entergy Arkansas Large Commercial & Industrial Program provides technical and financial assistance for energy efficiency programming within large industrial facilities with a peak demand of 100 kilowatt hours or greater.

In 2023, the program served 311 customers, who collectively saved over 105 megawatt hours and achieved carbon dioxide emissions reductions of 76,000 metric tons. This success was achieved from continuous energy improvement (CEI) and custom process- and energy-efficiency projects. The CEI program works closely with commercial customers to provide training, incentives, and free assessments for participating customers.

"These exceptional efficiency programs are leading the way for saving energy, cutting pollution, and lowering energy bills," said Jasmine Mah, senior research analyst at ACEEE and lead researcher for Leaders of the Pack. "Utilities and third-party program administrators seeking to establish or improve energy efficiency programs can look to this diverse set of leaders as models."

ACEEE staff reviewed nearly 100 nominations from across the country. The committee evaluated programs on factors such as ambitious long-term goals, interim metrics to measure progress, effective marketing reaching target audiences, performance evaluation for ensuring effectiveness, and community engagement, especially with historically underserved communities.
