At USGBC, we accelerate impactful change by equipping practitioners, policymakers and decision-makers with transformative tools, proven solutions and data-driven insights to design, construct, operate and certify high-performance spaces.

Earlier this year, we released the 2024-2026 Strategic Plan, featuring a new vision and mission defining who we are, what we do and the impact we seek to achieve. The new vision identifies five priority topics: health, equity, resilience, sustainability and prosperity. In alignment with these topics, USGBC+ has been updated to offer magazine content, podcasts and multimedia, and research and reports with an intuitive, topics-oriented design.

Explore our position on these topics and view some courses to learn more about them:

Health

Health is at the foundation of all buildings and communities. We have an unprecedented opportunity to advance human health equitably while decarbonizing and adapting to a changing climate.

Equity

True sustainability in the built environment must include equity. We are encouraging and empowering people, projects and organizations at all scales to incorporate equity into all aspects of decision-making, policy, governance and implementation.

Resilience

Resilient building practices protect occupants, reduce operational disruptions and strengthen community stability. Green buildings are a vital lifeline for thriving sustainability.

Sustainability

Our buildings have the ability to minimize their environmental footprint and actively contribute to the regeneration of our planet.

Prosperity

The future of buildings lies in their ability to act as catalysts for prosperity, fostering economic growth, cultural enrichment and environmental sustainability while preserving communities' unique identities.
