A successful year for Coventry Music!

Coventry Music have had some amazing and supportive audiences for their young musicians across the city over the last year.

Recently they have 'played out in Canley' with their community Samba Band in partnership with Warwick Arts Centre - talking part in the Carnival Procession, celebrated their groups in the Butterworth Hall at the Summer Showcase and ran two Trailblazer Cantata's.

This year has seen some of the most remarkable set of performances. Ending with a truly wonderful finale performance with the Warwick University Orchestra and Coventry Music musicians performing alongside to the BBC 10 pieces Largo and Firebird. A perfect ending to a truly mesmerising night of music making.

With the addition of the Strings players from Barrs Hill, Stoke Park, St Johns and Holbrooks, this added a wonderful dimension to the Cantata.

Over the week 66 students took part in the Coventry Music Summer Showcase, 315 students across the Cantata events and 20 members of the community Samba Band. All performances had musicians ranging from 7 years old upwards and the quality remained extremely high.

Coventry Music are excited for their upcoming events with the NEXT Stage takeover at Godiva Festival (7 July), Gig Night (16 July) at the HMV Empire and Sir Charles Barratt Memorial Foundation Recital Evening (17 July). Alongside, the end of year performances in schools and two tutor bands touring schools over the final two weeks of term.

What an exciting year for all involved - a big well done to everyone at Coventry Music!
