Official fall 2024 statistics now available; register for new internal census report training

Official fall 2024 enrollment, retention and graduation rate statistics, compiled by the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis, are now available via the dataMarq Report Catalog.

This fall, Marquette welcomed an incoming class of 2,148 first-year students. Thirty-two percent of the incoming first-year class are students of color, 21% are first-generation, and 9% are commuters.

Marquette's total undergraduate population is 8,045, up significantly over the previous year. Thirty-one percent are students of color. By this measure, this is the most diverse undergraduate student body in the university's history.

Graduate program enrollment also continues to thrive, with 3,701 graduate and professional students now enrolled at Marquette. Twenty-five percent of these graduate and professional students are students of color. By this measure, this is also the most diverse graduate student body in the university's history.

Recent undergraduate cohorts have posted strong retention and graduation rates. Last year's first-year class was retained at an exceptional 91%, the second-highest first-to-second-year retention rate in recent history. The first-to-third-year retention rate, at 87.5%, is the highest in recent history. In addition, Marquette's six-year graduation rate climbed to 82.4% this year, marking the ninth consecutive year that Marquette's six-year graduation rate has been above 80%.

OIRA's New Internal Census Reports

FERPA-trained Marquette employees can explore these statistics in more detail though OIRA's newly launched internal census reports, which can be accessed via the dataMarq Report Catalog.

These new internal census reports offer several features not previously available in the public census reports, including more robust filtering and the ability to view preliminary (pre-census) data.

To assist with navigating the new internal census reports, OIRA is offering three GROW with Marquette sessions:

• In-person on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
• In-person on Wednesday, Oct. 2, from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
• Virtual on Friday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

OIRA has also reorganized its section of the dataMarq Report Catalog to make it easier to navigate. Reports are now organized by topic, with some minor changes to report names. Because of the re-organization, most report URLs have changed. If you previously bookmarked any OIRA reports, you will need to update your bookmarks by finding the new report on dataMarq using the link above.
