Brown Shares Southwest Ohio Priorities During Cincinnati and Warren County Chamber Fly-Ins

WASHINGTON, D.C. - This week, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) joined both the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber's and the Warren County Chamber Alliance's annual fly-ins to Washington, D.C. Brown discussed key wins for the region - including regional investments in economic development and local industry, and infrastructure improvements from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Brown discussed the major new investment he secured in the Cleveland-Cliffs Middletown Works Plant to overhaul the current ironmaking systems, which will preserve domestic iron and steel production capabilities, continue to create and support union jobs, and ensure that IAM steelworkers in Middleton remain at the forefront of the global steel industry. Brown pushed the Department of Energy to support this project.

Brown also talked about key infrastructure wins he secured for the Cincinnati region, including investments to replace the Brent Spence Bridge and the Western Hills Viaduct, and his work to expand Amtrak service in Ohio.

Brown spoke about his work to help strengthen U.S. supply chains, create jobs at home, and position our state to lead in the industries that will drive the economy over the coming decades.

"Conversations like this are one of the most important parts of my job, because the best ideas don't come from Washington, they come from Ohio," said Brown. "Because of the work we did on things like the CHIPS Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Southwest Ohio is attracting more and more investment in the technologies and industries of the future. I'll keep working to create more opportunity for your businesses to grow, create jobs, and succeed."
