Districtwide Local Bridge Preservation Virtual Plans Display Unveiled Public comment sought through Wednesday, September 4.

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 12-0, along with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), invites the community to review the virtual plans display of the Districtwide Local Bridge Preservation project.

The project includes the perseverative maintenance of six bridge structures located throughout District 12. The proposed preservation work will include concrete repairs, crack sealing, protective coating application, expansion joint replacement, waterproofing, and guide rail upgrades. There will be no changes to the roadway alignments, profiles, or widths.

Bridge Locations:

  • Gas Company Road, T-319 over Dunkard Creek, Dunkard Township, Greene County;
  • Beeson Avenue over Tenmile Creek, Marianna Borough, Washington County;
  • Hoods Mill Road, T-405 over Fourmile Run, Cook Township, Westmoreland County;
  • Hoover Road, T-499 over Fourmile Run, Cook Township, Westmoreland County;
  • Peters Road, T-637 over Loyalhanna Creek, Ligonier Township, Westmoreland County;
  • Reed Avenue over Third Street, City of Monessen, Westmoreland County.

From there, select "12" on the map of Pennsylvania, then Design and Construction Projects under the District Links on the right side of the page. Click the respective county tile, then click the District 12 Local Bridge Preservation Tile.

Public comments are being accepted from Wednesday, August 21 through Wednesday, September 4. Please share your thoughts by clicking Submit a Comment on the right side of the project homepage. The webpage itself will remain active throughout the course of the project.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
