Beams set on Strickler Road bridge spanning westbound lanes of Route 283

Harrisburg, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that westbound Route 283 in Rapho Township, Lancaster County, is open to traffic. Westbound Route 283 was closed last night so beams could be set on the Strickler Road (Route 4045) bridge spanning the westbound lanes of the highway.

This work is complete. The detour associated with the closure has been lifted.

The Strickler Road bridge was closed last October after being struck by a vehicle traveling west on Route 283. A repair project is underway. The bridge will remain closed until repairs are completed. A detour is in place using Route 772 (Mount Joy Road), Breneman Road and Zink Road.

Ryland Construction Company, Inc., of Mount Wolf, is the contractor on this $652,696 project.

All work is expected to be completed by October 11, 2024.
