SEBAGO-LONG LAKE MUSIC FESTIVAL 52ND SEASON A WRAP

The Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival ended its 52nd season on Tuesday, August 13, performing for five consecutive weeks at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison, Maine. "Now the work begins to wrap up this season's books, assess and evaluate our performances and audience participation, and begin the planning for next year. The Board of Trustees work is never done." explained Barbara Graustein, board president for the past five years. "And, after a couple of months rest, Music Director Mihae Lee will plan the programs for next season and begin recruiting the artists who will play each week. It's a huge job. We are always amazed at the programming and artists Mihae is able to pull together for our wonderful festival each summer."

In addition to a successful season, the Festival has expanded its Youth Program by having young artists mostly from Maine, play on the lawn before each of its five performances. This year, in addition to campers from Sweden, Maine's music camp Encore Coda, Kim Bean's piano students displayed their skills over two concert weeks to the full attention of parents, friends, and SLLMF's regular audience members who come early to picnic before the concert and to listen to the young musicians. Two recent talented graduates of Fryeburg Academy also performed.

Next year's concert dates will be Tuesdays between July 15 and August 12 at Deertrees Theatre. Open Rehearsals, Healing and Discovery concerts in Western and Coastal Maine, and Repeat Concerts in New Hampshire and Connecticut will again be part of the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival season. Those 21 and younger are always admitted free of charge at SLLMF concerts at Deertrees. A few scholarships are available for adults for each concert, especially if they are bringing youngsters.
