Entries Sought for Photo Contest

Photo-worthy moments are everywhere, from family and pet playtime to trail walks and community outings. Residents are encouraged to capture these moments with their digital camera or smartphone, and enter their two favorite two photographs into the City's Through My Lens Photo Contest.

Now in its 17th year, Through My Lens is cosponsored by the City and the Diamond Bar Community Foundation. It is open to Diamond Bar residents of all ages and photography skill levels. The deadline for entries is Monday, Aug. 26.

Entries from youth and adults will be judged separately in each of the five contest categories: People, Pets, Places, Nature and Digitally Altered. Winning photographs and honorable mentions will be selected in early fall, and winners will be awarded certificates as well as cash prizes - $50 for each honorable mention, $100 for each first place, and $150 for one grand prize.

Additionally, winning entries will be published in the City's annual calendar and other publications, as well as in the Foundation's Windmill magazine. The grand prize-winning photograph will be showcased inside the City Hall building, on the walls along the hallway nearest to the entrance to the Diamond Bar Library.
