Oat production in Nebraska this year is estimated at 2.48 million bushels, almost double 2023 production according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) . . . NASS reported Nebraska corn stocks totaled 147 million bushels on September 1, up 13% from 2023. On-farm stocks equaled 71.0 million bushels, and 75.9 million bushels were off-farm.Soybeans stored totaled 22.1 million bushels, up 5%. On-farm stocks totaled 6.70 million bushels and off-farm stocks totaled 15.4 million bushels . . . NASS reported the value of potatoes sold from the 2023 Nebraska crop totaled $127 million, up 13% from 2022 . . .Syngenta announced the addition of a Generative AI system to its integrated digital services platform for crop management. It hopes the use of advanced machine learning algorithms and data analytics can provide producers with insights and better decision-making capabilities . . . The Lincoln Journal Star reported Omaha, Norfolk and Sidney saw their driest Septembers ever in 2024. Kearney saw its second-driest September, Hastings and Valentine both had their third-driest, Chadron had its fourth driest, and Grand Island had its fifth driest.
