City Connect: Volunteer Appreciation, Early Voting Underway, & Fall Events!

A WORD FROM WANDA

Different Perspectives, One Goal

Durham is a diverse community with a variety of perspectives, but we share a common goal: building a stronger Bull City for current and future residents. This was on full display at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Reception on October 7, where we came together to celebrate the people who serve on our boards, committees, commissions, and task forces.

These volunteers provide essential advice and ideas on key issues like affordable housing, safe transit, and community safety. Their input helps guide City Council and City staff in making decisions that impact our city's future.

Thank you to all who served this past year. You are playing a pivotal role in ensuring Durham continues to grow and thrive as a community.

Get Involved

If you would like to learn more about these advisory boards, please visit our website and apply!

There are many other ways to get involved as well, including volunteer openings for Durham Parks and Recreation as well as Keep Durham Beautiful and other local non-profits.

We also have careers in public service where you will find the chance to grow and advance while making a real difference right here in our community.

Thank you for all you do to make Durham what it is today! We're excited to continue working with you to build a brighter future for the Bull City.
