O'Loughlin - Teachers should not be belittled

Responding to comments made my Michael O'Leary, Kildare South General Election Candidate Fiona O'Loughlin has said that teachers should not be belittled.

O'Loughlin said: "I could not disagree more with Michael O'Leary's statement at the Minister for Enterprise's campaign launch that he wouldn't employ teachers to 'go out and get things done.'

"Our education system is the great leveller and the great enabler that has helped build the bedrock of our country's continued social and economic progress, and our education system is nothing without our teachers.

"Fianna Fáil is committed to investing further in education, supporting and recognising the work that teachers do, not belittling them."
