Join the City of Fort Worth for two events: the groundbreaking for Fire Stations 26 and 37. Both will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

  • 4921 South Drive West
  • Fire Station 37 Groundbreaking - Council District 4
  • 1 p.m.
  • 10600 Alta Vista Road

Fire Station 26 will be a new one-story, two-company and battalion headquarters, located on approximately 1.9 acres of land on the south side of South Drive West. The new fire station will have:

  • Nine bedrooms, three officers living accommodations and offices, and living accommodations for six firefighters
  • 11,110 gross square feet
  • Total cost of $9,613,329

Fire Station 37 will also be a new one-story, two-company station on approximately 4.075 acres of land on the southeast corner of the intersection of Alta Vista Road and Golden Triangle Boulevard. The station will include:

  • Eight bedrooms, two officers living accommodations and offices, and living accommodations for six firefighters
  • 10,913 gross square feet
  • Total cost of $9,936,177

Both stations, designed by RPGA Design Group and constructed by Steele & Freeman, will have a covered outdoor patio connected to a fitness room with a roll-up door, xeriscape landscaping and full-station backup power generator.

Go deeper: In October, the Fort Worth City Council approved additional funding to replace three fire stations as part of the 2022 Bond Program. The increased funding highlights the City's commitment to enhancing emergency services infrastructure, which is essential for community safety and development. The initiative is part of a strategic plan to improve fire services across multiple districts, ensuring readiness and rapid response capabilities.
