Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • No-Hit Shooting - Lakewood Boulevard and Stearns Street - On Oct. 15, 2024 at approximately 9:55 p.m., officers responded to the area of Lakewood Boulevard and Stearns Street regarding a no-hit shooting. Upon arrival, officers contacted an uninjured male adult victim. Officers were unable to locate evidence of a shooting. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officer's arrival. No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
  • No-Hit Shooting - 1300 Block of Del Rey Court - On Oct. 16, 2024 at approximately 3:04 a.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Del Rey Court regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located evidence indicating a shooting had occurred. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officer's arrival. Suspect information and the motive for the shooting are under investigation. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
  • SWAT Resources Utilized During Investigation - 6500 Block of Walkerton Street - On Oct. 15, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., detectives were conducting a follow-up investigation near the 6500 block of Walkerton Street to locate a suspect wanted for felony vandalism. The suspect barricaded himself inside of a residence and refused to exit. Officers established a perimeter and attempted to de-escalate; however, the suspect refused to cooperate. SWAT resources responded to the scene. A short time later, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect has been identified as Andrew Francis Fees, a 49-year-old resident of Long Beach, who was booked for a felony warrant and obstructing a peace officer. Bail is set at $50,000. The investigation is ongoing.
Great work officers! Last night, officers safely took two guns off the streets!
  • On Oct. 16, 2024 at approximately 1:44 a.m., officers responded to the 6100 block of Atlantic Avenue regarding a group of subjects who were passing around firearms. Officers detained the subjects and discovered two suspects were in possession of a firearm. Officers safely recovered the firearms. Both suspects, who were determined to be prohibited possessors, were arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
