Iran rejects US accusation of intervention to influence election results

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson has dismissed the US Attorney Generals claim that some countries including the Islamic Republic of Iran have made aggressive moves to influence the results of the elections in the US.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson has dismissed the US Attorney General's claim that some countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, have made aggressive moves to influence the results of the elections in the US.

Nasser Kanaani said, "Once again, we consider the repeated claims as baseless and biased for domestic political consumption and we reject such accusations."

The spokesperson also stated, "US government officials cannot seek to repair the internal divisions and problems of the country, which have structural, political and social roots, by playing the blame game and accusing others outside their country's borders."

The spokesperson for Iran's diplomatic service added, "The US government, which is a pioneer of illegal interventions in the domestic affairs of other independent countries and has a long list of such destructive moves in its record, cannot pin its internal problems and crises on other countries by accusations and cannot cover up its dark record of illegal behavior towards and intervention in the domestic affairs of independent countries."
